Oliver BAUMANN
Freiburg

| Freiburg climbed out of the relegation zone on Saturday, earning three critical points against basement side Kaiserslautern, and Baumann was a strong candidate for Man of the Match. The former Germany Under-21 international made some key saves as SCF kept a clean sheet. |

| Dortmund defensive duo Piszczek and Hummels return following a 6-1 hammering of Koln at the RheinEnergieStadion. The Polish right-back netted the equaliser and assisted two more in the rout, and the Germany international - while not at all at fault for the goal conceded - man-marked with his usual quality, denying service to his opponents and winning nearly every challenge he was forced to make. The Hertha central defence performed admirably on Saturday, and both Hubnik and Christoph Janker are deserving of praise. But the Czech defender was marginally better as he played a very aggressive game, minimising opportunities for Mainz. Fuchs makes his fourth appearance in the Team of the Week after his excellent display in a crucial win for Schalke against Leverkusen. The former Mainz man gave an assist to Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, but did not compromise his defensive duties as S04 kept a clean sheet. |

Cedric MAKIADI Freiburg TOTW Apps: 2 |
Ilkay GUNDOGAN Dortmund TOTW Apps: 2 |

| In Freiburg's win against Kaiserslautern, Makiadi was the best outfielder on the pitch. The Congolese midfielder, who also stood out last week, maintained his run of form as he scored and controlled the tempo. Given a rare start in midfield, Gundogan took his chance against Koln , and showed a bit of Nuri Sahin in his game. He was like a magnet to the ball, amassing 113 touches throughout the match, spraying the ball all over the pitch. And he returned to his playmaking roots late in the game, scoring and assisting a goal apiece in the 6-1 rout. |

Toni KROOS Bayern TOTW Apps: 2 |
Shinji KAGAWA Dortmund TOTW Apps: 6 |

| With Mario Gomez and Thomas Muller rested from the start, Bayern needed a big game from Kroos and the 22-year-old delivered. One world class finish and a pinpoint assist were enough for the Bavarians to down Hannover, but the Germany international also deserves credit for setting up two clear chances for Ivica Olic. Arguably the player of the around was Kagawa, whose marvellous volley put Dortmund ahead against Koln. He later set up another goal with a gorgeous back-heel, and directly scored and assisted one more before full time. |

Klaas-Jan HUNTELAAR Schalke TOTW Apps: 4 |
Adrian RAMOS Hertha Berlin TOTW Apps: 1 |

| Huntelaar showed his lethality in a pivotal game against Leverkusen that propelled Schalke to third place in the Bundesliga standings, and a step closer towards confirming their spot in the Champions League next season - at the very least in the play-off game. The Dutch striker scored twice to bring his tally to a remarkable 40 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions. He also has 12 assists. Hertha have had little joy since the winter break, but Ramos put in a strong showing on Saturday to lift the struggling side to their second victory of the calendar year. The Colombian attacker was twice on target and was always a threat as the Berlin side won 3-1 in Mainz. |
