Ribery picks up knock during France's victory over Germany

The Bayern Munich midfielder took a heavy kick during the first half of Wednesday's friendly against the Germans, and was forced to leave the field of play at the break
Franck Ribery could face a spell on the sidelines after picking up a knock during France's 2-1 win over Germany at the Weserstadion on Wednesday.

Les Bleus coach Laurent Blanc revealed after their win that he had no choice but to replace the Bayern Munich midfielder with Jeremy Menez at half-time, as he did not want to risk the fitness of the former Marseille man.

"He was hurt pretty quickly. He received a big kick so we did not take any risks. At half-time, he could not walk," admitted Blanc.

Ribery will now undergo tests to discover the extent of the kick, meaning he could miss Bavarians' weekend's crunch Bundesliga meeting with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
