Xherdan Shaqiri has revealed that his goal is to inspire Bayern Munich to the treble next season.
The Basel winger looked set to join Galatasaray last month but the proposed transfer ultimately collapsed over the size of the transfer fee, allowing Bayern to swoop in and agree a deal to bring Shaqiri to the Allianz Arena this summer.
The Switzerland international, who had been keen on moving to Turkey, is delighted with the way in which things have panned out and is now hoping to make a big impression in Munich, telling Sport1: "I want to win the treble with Bayern."
Breaking into Jupp Heynckes' starting lineup will not be easy, though, given that he will be competing for an attacking berth with Thomas Muller, Toni Kroos, Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.
However, Shaqiri is undaunted by the challenge facing him, arguing: "No matter where you go, you have competition - and that's just the same at Bayern."
Shaqiri has an early opportunity to prove his talent to his new employers when Basel tackle Bayern in the last 16 of the Champions League, with the first leg set to take place at St. Jakob-Park on February 22.
