Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes remains upbeat over new deals for Arjen Robben and Ivica Olic
The Dutch winger has already expressed his desire to pen a new contract, while the door is also open for his Croatian team-mate to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena
Olic is out of contract at the end of the season, while Robben's deal expires in 2013 but Heynckes insists that the Dutch winger is keen to commit his future to the Bundesliga leaders.
“Robben said that nothing stands in the way of him prolonging his contract,” the Bavarian side's boss said.
“He also said a couple of weeks ago that it would be important to extend his contract.”
Olic, meanwhile, appeared certain to leave at the end of the season having become increasingly frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities but hinted on Monday that he would be open to a renewal.
Certainly, Heynckes is hoping that the Croatian forward decides to stay put.
“In my view, there isn’t much that is standing in the way of him getting a new contract,” he admitted.
“He has something that not a lot of players have: an ability get stuck in and to fight.
“On top of that, he always positions himself where strikers need to be to score goals.”
Bayern, who currently top the table by three points over Borussia Dortmund and Schalke, resume their league campaign at Borussia Monchengladbach on January 20.
