Bayern Munich to meet Bundesliga rivals Stuttgart in DFB Pokal quarter-finals

The Bavarians have been paired with their league rivals in the next round of the German cup after seeing off Bochum, while Dortmund will take on a regional side

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have been paired with Stuttgart in the draw for the quarter-finals of the 2011-12 DFB Pokal.

Head coach Jupp Heynckes’ side reached the last eight for the 10th time in the last 11 seasons following Tuesday's 2-1 win away over Bochum. Stuttgart, meanwhile, defeated Hamburg by the same score on Wednesday evening at their home ground to set up the quarter-final showdown with the Bavarians.

Both sides met in last year's edition of the German cup as well when Bayern recorded an impressive 6-3 away win in the round of 16.

In the other ties, Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund will have Regionalliga side Holstein Kiel for company, while Hoffenheim host Greuther Furth, and Hertha Berlin take on Borussia Monchengladbach.

The quarter-finals will be played on February 7 (Tuesday) and 8 (Wednesday) 2012.
