| The Schalke defence was in fine form against Bremen on Saturday, and for their performances, Benedikt Howedes and Kyriakos Papadopoulos are honoured in Team of the Week. The former was rock-solid in defence and inspired confidence as his side's captain, while the latter added similar quality at the back and scored a goal to boot. Centre-back Dante ensured Monchengladbach's 1-0 win over Mainz on Sunday, brilliantly aiding the similarly impressive Marc-Andre ter Stegen in goal. In Leverkusen, Marvin Plattenhardt had an excellent game for visitors Nurnberg in their surprise 3-0 win. The 19-year-old's defensive play was outstanding, and he also earned a pair of assists from corners. |

| Even down to 10 men for an hour, Bayern Munich managed to keep a whopping 67% of possession against Koln, a testament to the brilliant distribution quality of Toni Kroos. The youngster really came alive in the second half, setting up Thomas Muller with a clear chance before scoring a late goal in the Bavarians' 3-0 win. The next day, Ilkay Gundogan put in a performance for Dortmund that made him a candidate for man of the match: the Germany international gave a fabulous assist for Shinji Kagawa's opener, and later netted a critical goal as BVB earned a 4-1 victory in Freiburg. |
