Borussia Dortmund's Mario Gotze on Bayern Munich interest: I cannot and will not rule out anything

The highly regarded Germany international sees the Bundesliga champions as an ideal place to develop, but is non-committal about his future amid talk of a transfer
Borussia Dortmund starlet Mario Gotze has refused to rule out a future transfer to Bayern Munich.

The 19-year-old starlet has reiterated previous statements that he prefers to play for BVB, but could not confirm that he will remain in the Ruhr area indefinitely, citing Champions League football as a sticking point.

"Next year is a long way away," he told Sport-Bild. "Who knows if we will finish fourth? Whether I will be injured? Whether things will go well? I've been planning to stay for a long time.

"It is true that I designed a plan with my agent, Volker Struth. It stipulates that I will always play in the [Champions League]. That's my goal and that is important to me. But no-one can predict what will happen in the coming months and years."

However, he did admit that Dortmund is the best location for him to continue, as long as the conditions are right.

"Nowhere else do I have the feeling of being able to develop myself as at BVB," he said.

Gotze also commented on interest from Bayern, who have made no secret of their intent to one day sign him.

"It is an honour, of course, if a big club like Bayern Munich are interested me. Basically I cannot and will not rule out anything."

In August, Struth exclusively told that his client would remain at Dortmund at least until the end of the 2012-13 season.

Gotze also commented on what appears to be a growing competition between himself and Real Madrid's Mesut Ozil for a starting berth in the playmaker role in Joachim Low's Germany squad.

"I see no competition," he added. "I can play in other positions than Mesut's. I'm really proud to play for the Germany national team. We have the potential to win the European Championship."

Gotze has been largely used as a winger at club level, though in Low's team he has taken on the role of central playmaker. He thus far has earned 10 caps for Germany, scoring two goals in the process.
