Borussia Dortmund winger Kevin Grosskreutz has hailed his side's season following their Bundesliga victory.

Speaking to Sky Germany after Dortmund’s 2-0 win over Nurnberg that guaranteed them the title, Grosskreutz said that his team’s success was well deserved.

"I can't describe it,” he said. “Two years ago, it was me who was standing on the ranks and now we are German champion.

“The supporters, the entire club has deserved it, because we've played an awesome season."

Long serving left-back Dede also echoed Grosskreutz’s sentiments, claiming that Dortmund’s football made them worthy champions.

"Becoming the German champion is not that easy and I think we just deserve it,” said Dede. “The team has played a just incredible football. We had problems all these years, it's just a great thing.”

Dede, who will leave the club at the end of the season, also paid tribute to the fans after 13 seasons at the Westfalenstadion.

“There are no words for that. All Borussia supporters, the Germans, the country, the respect shown to me was a great thing for me. I had never imagined living here. I thank you all.

“I can just say, Germany and Dortmund has become my second home. I say thanks for everything."
