Tall striker always believed a deal would be done, eventually...
The prolific Bundesliga hitman was optimistic a deal would be completed during the summer, but things just didn't go to plan as a number of interested parties, including the Italian side, could not reach an agreement with his parent club. And the forward still can't help wondering what could have been.
"I cannot hide being sorry for failing to move to Juventus," said Dzeko to Tuttosport.
"Until the end I believed that Wolfsburg and Juventus could find an agreement, especially when the two clubs opened negotiations for Diego, but unfortunately things didn't go the way I wanted."
Juventus finally got their season up and running with a bang at the weekend when they destroyed a helpless Udinese side 4-0, largely thanks to a first half man of the match performance from the man that might not have been there had Dzeko made his move, Milos Krasic.
Dzeko himself this week expressed that he believes the Bundesliga is among the strongest leagues in the world.
