Former Spurs boss worries pair could leave club...

Stuttgart coach Christian Gross has admitted that he is unsure whether Serdar Tasci and Sami Khedira will remain at the club following their exploits at the World Cup with Germany.

Khedira came into the national squad as a replacement for influential captain Michael Ballack, and has played an important role in the heart of midfield as Germany have advanced to the semi-final stage.

Germany have been highly impressive so far in the tournament, thrashing Argentina 4-0 in their quarter-final this afternoon, and Gross knows that this could lead to some of Europe’s top clubs taking an interest in the pair.

"Who knows what is going to happen in the case of Khedira and Tasci,” he told Stuttgart Nachrichten.

Khedira only has a year left on his contract and Gross fears that this could lead to some top clubs attempting to sign him on the cheap this summer.

He added: "If he [Khedira] has more great games then there will be big clubs from Spain and England approaching and then all parties will need to think over their position.

"I would not like to see Sami leaving us on a Bosman transfer in twelve months."

Stuttgart director Jochen Schneider is more confident that Khedira will remain at the club though.

"We have spoken to Sami Khedira and his player agent right ahead of the World Cup competition. And he is definitely going on at our club, he will be around for the 2010/2011 season,” Scheider told kicker-Sportmagazin.
