thumbnail Hello,

The PSG boss is looking forward to recovering the Uruguayan hitman and demands his side maintain their focus in Ligue 1 alongside their European exploits

Laurent Blanc says Edinson Cavani will return for Paris Saint-Germain next weekend when they host Marseille in le Classique.

The 27-year-old had pulled out of les Parisiens's recent 2-0 win over Bordeaux, thus missing out key matches versus Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen subsequently, and has now been sidelined for three weeks.

But Blanc, speaking ahead of his team's trip to Toulouse on Sunday, thinks his striker will be in the reckoning to play in le Classique at the start of March and says the rest of his players are in good shape despite their 4-0 Champions League win over Bayer Leverkusen in midweek.

"Our goal is to reinstate Cavani ahead of the league match with Marseille," the coach told reporters. "When I see him in training I think he is close.

"The players are in good condition. Christophe Jallet is back training with the group. Fatigue is less pronounced when we win. The return trip from Leverkusen was long, but we were able to recover."

PSG sit two points ahead of Monaco at the top of Ligue 1 with a game in hand, but Blanc has warned his players that they must not let their standards drop.

"We are satisfied with this victory [over Leverkusen], but there is no euphoria," he continued. "We know we've worked hard to get there, but we also know what to do to continue on this path.

"We now have to act the same and be able to focus on Ligue 1 again and focus on our game against Toulouse.

"On Sunday, there are three points to be won, as usual. We must no longer think of Leverkusen, and the players are aware."
