Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has labelled his team’s decisive victory over Anderlecht as their "best performance of the season".
Edinson Cavani scored early in the second half but Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the star of the show as his four goals helped the French club to a 5-0 win.
PSG top Group E after 4-1 and 3-0 victories in their opening two Champions League games against Olympiakos and Benfica respectively, and Wednesday night’s result means they are yet to drop a point in this year’s competition.
"In the analysis, in terms of the statistics, you can say that this was our best performance of the season,” Blanc told reporters.
“The best thing about the match was that from the first to the 90th minute, Paris had total control. That's exactly what we ask of the players. It was a very good evening for us.
“We were expecting a match against a well-organised, defensive side and that's what we got. Like so often, when we get that first goal, the match opens up. The opposition have to take more risks.
“It took us a while to get the second goal, but we got there in the end. We looked to attack and we controlled the game well so we are very happy with how the match went."
