The defender has questioned whether his former coach would be able to tolerate the Sweden striker if the two reunited in Paris, citing bad blood between the pair

Marco Materazzi has cast serious doubt over whether Jose Mourinho would be able to work with Zlatan Ibrahimovic if the former took over as Paris Saint-Germain head coach.

Ibrahimovic left the Nerazzurri, then managed by Mourinho, in 2009 to join Barcelona and his former team-mate has revealed the extent of the animosity that surrounded the departure.

"If Mourinho joins PSG, I don’t know what will become of Ibrahimovic," Materazzi told Repubblica Sport, when asked about rumours that the Portuguese coach could be enticed to the French capital.

"They did not leave each other on good terms. Ibra dumped us during a pre-season training camp in Los Angeles to join Barcelona.

"He told Cristian Chivu: 'You won’t even win the Scudetto without me.' Mourinho confronted him and said: 'I want you to know that we’ll win everything without you.' That was exactly what happened."

Inter enjoyed an extremely successful season after the striker's summer move, completing a Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League treble in 2009-10, and Materazzi chose to goad the striker over his unfortunate record of leaving clubs just prior to them enjoying European success.

"In fact, I now have a concern that Milan will win the Champions League," the 39-year-old quipped.

"It already happened at Barcelona and Inter, as when Ibra leaves, that team then lifts the trophy."
