Representatives of the Spaniard were in London on Friday to finalise the details of a €10m (£7.9m) transfer to Stamford Bridge, but the right-back still turned out for his current club in the 2-0 win over Sochaux on Saturday.
The OM trainer revealed his pleasure at the professionalism of the right-back and credited him with coping with the situation extremely well.

"He has started two high level games, this is a great professional. I see players from other clubs in the same situation and they do not always have the same behaviour."
Azpilicueta is expected to complete his transfer to Chelsea early in the coming week and will join compatriot Juan Mata in West London.
