Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has indicated that Gonzalo Higuain will not leave Real Madrid in the summer.The Argentina international has been strongly linked with pastures new after featuring only infrequently for Los Blancos this term.
PSG midfielder Javier Pastore had previously declared that his side were locked in talks with his international team-mate, but Leonardo has now declared that the club have decided not to follow up their interest in the player.
"There is no project with Higuain," he told Le Parisien. "We are assembling a competitive and balanced team for Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
"We are not looking to sign a star, we do not need a big name.
"Higuain is a player of Madrid and he is not on the market."
The Ligue 1 runners-up are said to be close to sealing a €50 million move for AC Milan centre-back Thiago Silva.
