Paris Saint-Germain forward Kevin Gameiro has conceded that his performances since arriving at the club have been average.

The 24-year-old was signed for £9.2 million (€11m) last June and he believes that he has yet to justify his lofty price tag, despite having notched 10 goals in Ligue 1 to date.

"Personally, my season is average," Gameiro is quoted as saying by France Football. "I have not had many top moments and I could also have scored more.

"[But] I do not regret my choice to come to PSG. This is the club of my heart and I am very happy to be here.

"Ten goals in a season - it's not nothing. [But] I have to work on my form in front of goal, and especially with my back to goal, which is not my strong point."

Gameiro also insisted that he was not perturbed by PSG's pursuit of Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez and AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato during the January transfer window.

"The directors were clear with me," he explained. "They told me they were looking for a striker, but not necessarily to replace me. And, in the end, nobody has come."

Gameiro, who has been capped eight times by France, scored 50 goals in 110 Ligue 1 appearances for former club Lorient.
