Marseille president Vincent Labrune has stated that Lucho Gonzalez is almost certain to return to Porto, bringing his unhappy spell at Stade Velodrome to the end.
The Argentine joined the Marseillaise side for €18 million (£15m) in 2009, but declared his desire to leave Didier Deschamps' side in the summer for a bigger league.
However, despite rumours of interest from the likes of Arsenal, a buyer could not be found for the 31-year-old, who went on to lose his place in the first-team this campaign.
It now seems that the former River Plate star is to get his desired move, with Labrune telling Canal + that Gonzalez is "97 per cent at Porto".
Meanwhile, L'Equipe is reporting that Marseille have lined up Le Harve's 22-year-old attacker Ryan Mendes for a move to Stade Velodrome at the end of the season.
The Cape Verdean has scored nine goals in his 20 Ligue 2 games this season.
