Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu has labelled new coach Carlo Ancelotti 'a role model', and is hopeful that his appointment will bring success to the French capital.

The Italian boss was installed at the Parc des Princes at Antoine Kombouare's expense and has seemingly already has brought a buzz to the capital-city outfit, with the keeper in awe of the veteran’s track record of success, believing that PSG may well be in for a period of glory under his guidance.

"Ancelotti is a role model," Sirigu told Le Parisien.

"He won so many trophies with Milan, few coaches are like him. I remember in particular a fantastic team with Kaka and [Andrei] Shevchenko, who was the best striker in the world.

"Ancelotti has led players who have reached exceptional levels. He deserves respect from all. His workouts are more professional. He is focused on the details.

"It's the difference between a normal team and a team that wants to win everything," the 25-year old stated.

Sirigu also believes that Ancelotti's appeal can help to bring big-name players to the club, with the Italian's former charge Alex joining from Chelsea earlier in the week.

"This is a team which is constantly evolving. Now when we speak of a great player, he can potentially go to PSG," the 25-year-old enthused.

"However, nothing is missing at PSG. We're talking about a winter transfer window and it's hard for new players to sign in that time.

"PSG has a draw; not just for the great team, but because Paris is a beautiful city."
