Paris Saint-Germain ponder bid for Sporting CP's Joao Pereira - report
The Ligue 1 giants are determined to sign a new right-back in January and are believed to have identified the Portuguese defender as one of their top priorities
Paris Saint-Germain have set their sights on Sporting CP defender Joao Pereira, according to RMC.
The French outfit are understood to be on the lookout for a new right-back as coach Carlo Ancelotti continues to reinforce his recently-inherited side.
Inter's Maicon is reportedly PSG's No.1 transfer target, but fresh speculation suggests that the Ligue 1 leaders have already asked Sporting about Pereira's availability.
The Portugal international has been ever present in Sporting's back line since joining the club from Braga in January of 2010 and his efforts have seen him linked with a new challenge in recent months.
Pereira has a €7 million (£5.8m) release clause attached to his contract, which expires in the summer of 2014.
