Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has denied quotes released earlier this week which claimed he had been offered Chelsea striker Fernando Torres.

The Italian reportedly told Gazzetta dello Sport that a Premier League trio of Torres, Manchester United’s Dimitar Berbatov and Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko had been offered to him by agents during the current transfer window.

Ancelotti believes his club are being linked with Chelsea's players because he shares a good relationship with them, and also insists he has not been offered Napoli’s highly coveted Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Ancelotti said: "I have been offered many players, but [Edinson] Cavani and [Fernando] Torres are not part of them.

"Many names are linked to me only because I had a good relationship with them, such as [Didier] Drogba and [Florent] Malouda."

The former Chelsea boss has also dismissed reports linking the Qatari-owned side with Inter duo Thiago Motta and Maicon, as well as Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

He continued: "There are many good players in Italy, such as Maicon and Motta, but we do not try to take them from Inter.

"Again, I say I like him [De Rossi]. But we do not try to take him.

"He has a Roma heritage. It is right he can remain there."

However, the two-time Champions League winner refused to rule out a move for Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero, admitting the 37-year-old could sign with his contract soon set to expire.

"He'll be out of contract at Juventus, so everything can happen," he concluded.
