Loic Remy's transfer to Marseille from Nice delayed after problems during medical
Move on hold for time being...
By Paul Macdonald
A selection of journalists were expecting the presentation of the 23-year old forward today, with Remy completing his €15.5 million (£12.7m) switch to the Stade Velodrome.
However, the appearance of Remy in a l’OM jersey was repeatedly delayed without a suitable explanation from club officials, and sources suggest that unexpected findings during the player’s medical are behind the unscheduled postponement.
Marseille president, Jean-Claude Dassier, informed the awaiting media that a press conference has been announced for Friday afternoon, but would not divulge details of its purpose.
Remy is still expect to be announced as a Marseille player, but for the moment the transfer has been put on hold.
The France international had previously been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool, Tottenham and Stoke City among the interested parties.
