Stoke City forward Peter Crouch is eyeing a return to international football following the resignation of Fabio Capello.

Although Crouch scored seven goals under the Italian, the 31-year old hasn't been part of the England set up since November 2010 when he featured in a home friendly against France.

Despite his 14 month exile from international football, Crouch's chances of a recall were boosted following Capello's resignation, and the Potter's striker believes good performances for his club can only help his chances.

"I've not been in the last few squads," Crouch admitted.

"
Whoever takes over hopefully will start picking me again, but it's only what you do for your club that warrants getting in the England set-up again so I've got to play well for Stoke, score goals and hopefully that will come."

Crouch has an impressive record in an England shirt, netting 22 goals in 42 appearances and, with Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp favourite to succeed Capello, Crouch could find himself back in the international reckoning under his former boss at Portsmouth and Spurs.
