Big Sam says chiefs ‘look for a certain type’…Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has hit out at the FA for being "snobs" when choosing the England manager.
The 55-year-old has expressed his desire to go into international management in the next few years and has long been linked with the England job.
FA bosses interviewed Allardyce for the post following Sven-Goran Eriksson’s exit in 2006 but opted for Steve McClaren instead.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the former Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United boss accused the FA of “snobbery”.
“I think they look for a certain type,” Allardyce said.
“I think the politically correct comes into it. I’m not so sure it should but I think it is a snobbery perhaps.”
