Manager Stuart Pearce left reeling by withdrawals...
By Matt Monaghan
Manager Stuart Pearce was dealt the blow as his charges fight to top Group Nine. Skipper Rodwell returned to Everton after picking up an ankle injury, Newcastle United's Carroll has pulled out with a similar complaint, while Arsenal's Lansbury has been sidelined with a slight groin complaint.
The youth side need to collect three points from both matches - and hope Greece do not win against Macedonia - to guarantee progression. Training continued at London Colney today, with the team set to fly out to Portugal tomorrow for Friday's clash.
