Bet of the Day: Managerless Fulham could be in for a Swedish surprise

Premier League side travel to Malmo with odds worth taking a peek at...

Roy Hodgson - Fulham (PA)

Pre-season friendlies haven't been entirely kind to English sides, with both Chelsea and Manchester United slipping up in recent days. Managerless Fulham travel to in-form Malmo for the last leg of their Swedish tour and bookies are underestimating the home side big time.

Malmo are one of the best teams in the Allsvenskan and are second in the league. Former Sheffield Wednesday full-back Roland Nilsson has got his young hungry team playing well and they are a force to be reckoned with, particularly at home where they have won seven and drawn one from eight games. The southern Swedes have a habit of scoring early in games and are the joint top scorers in the Allsvenskan.

Fulham's summer has been dominated by the search for a successor to Roy Hodgson. The club have failed to install a new coach with less than three weeks to go until the new season in England. Caretaker Ray Lewington remains in charge and he witnessed his side draw 2-2 with Halmstad in a game where they trailed and could easily have lost.

Had Hodgson still been in charge of the Premier League outfit, this game would be easier to call. The former Malmo boss would have got a great reception on his return to Sweden, where he was hugely successful, and no doubt his team would have performed. Without him the Londoners look set for a difficult campaign and seeing them struggle against an average unit like Halmstad doesn't bode well for a trip to Malmo.

* Back Malmo to win at 3.52 (small stake)

* Malmo have scored in every home game so far this season and this is a friendly so over 2.5 goals at 1.75 is worth a punt.

* A double chance on Malmo or a draw looks the best bet at 1.72

Match Odds: Malmo 3.52, Draw 3.18, Fulham 1.86
