After an impressive attacking display in the Charity Shield, Hugh Wilson takes a look at who might be the leading Gunners marksman and he feels a 9/1 shot stands outArsenal were too strong for Manchester City at the weekend, defeating them easily in the Charity Shield, scoring three unanswered goals in the process. Those goals were netted by three separate players, with big money addition Alexis Sanchez yet to open his account for the Gunners.
Aaron Ramsey, Santi Carzorla and Oliver Giroud all scored quality goals with Arsenal looking extremely dangerous going forward so there is likely to be plenty of interest in who will top score for the Gunners in the Premier League season.

Oliver Giroud won the award for the North Londoners last season, scoring 16 times in his 36 league games. The France international is 7/4 (2.75) to re-claim the prize with bet365. Giroud looked sharp coming off the bench in the Charity Shield, scoring a wonderful goal from 25 yards as is sure to be a danger as the Gunners' first choice striker.
Two players kept the pressure on Giroud throughout the first half of the season, with Aaron Ramsey netting 10 league goals and Lukas Podolski eight, but injury hampered both their seasons, with Ramsey playing only 23 league games and Podolski 20.
Since being part of the World Cup winning squad, the German has yet to play a pre-season match, so despite the 20/1 (21.00) price, it's worth avoiding, especially with Giroud and Sanchez likely to be in-front of him in the pecking order.
Ramsey really stood out for Arsenal last season, and without his injury, he may well have been able to challenge Giroud for top scorer. The price of 9/1 (10.00) seems to represent value with bet365.
Looking at more attacking options for the Gunners, Yaya Sanogo has made an impact this pre-season, scoring four in one match, but like Podolski, he could see his chances limited. And like the German, he is priced at 20/1 (21.00).
Theo Walcott is another attacking option for Arsenal, but has been battling with injury since last season and will hopefully be in contention for the starting 11 soon, but with doubts over fitness, he may miss the opening few games, with the 11/2 (6.50) price a little short.
With the two main strikers a little short to back in this market, it's certainly worth a shot backing Ramsey, who looked extremely dangerous before an unfortunate injury last season. The Welshman looks as though he has returned to the form we saw him in last season, scoring a great goal against Man City last weekend.
