After a 2/1 winner on Wednesday night Phil Kitromilides explains why he is backing either Clint Dempsey or Roberto Soldado to open the scoring at 12/5 this weekendSpurs begin their pre-season in the north west corner of the United States taking on the best supported side in the country, Seattle Sounders.
The side from the state of the Washington have by far the biggest average attendance of any MLS club and their fans have been treated to some impressive performances with the team unbeaten in the league at CenturyLink Field since late March.
Indeed the Sounders have won each of their last six MLS games at home and should provide Mauricio Pochettino's men with a decent work out in the Argentine's first match in charge.
William Hill make the Premier League side slight favorites at evens (2.00).
Seattle meanwhile can be backed at 11/5 (2.20) with the draw offered at the same price.
There may well be some familiar faces for English fans in the Sounders' lineup with former Spurs striker Clint Dempsey, ex Newcastle forward Obafemi Martin and Liverpool old boy Djimi Traore all on the books of the MLS side.
Dempsey will be keen to follow up his decent showing at the World Cup by scoring against his former employers and is offered at 15/8 (2.88) to get on the scoresheet at any time and at 13/2 (7.50) to score first.
On the opposing side Spurs' Roberto Soldado will be desperate to hit the ground running in pre-season and will have a point to prove given his lacklustre debut campaign with the Lilywhites.
He is offered at 5/4 (2.20) to net at any time and at 5/1 (6.00) to break the deadlock.
For our purposes however the price of 12/5 (3.40) for eith Soldado or Dempsey to score first looks tempting, given that they are the most likely scorers for their respective sides.
