Greece - Cote d'Ivorie Betting Preview: Back these sides to be level at the break

Phil Kitromilides explains why he is expecting a tight opening 45 minutes and why punters can more than double their money by backing a half time stalemate tonight
The future of both sides at this World Cup is on the line this evening as Greece meet Ivory Coast. For the Africans the situation is simple, win and they are through to the last 16, while for the Greeks things are slightly more complex as they need a victory and then also a favor from Colombia in beating Japan in the other group game.

The Europeans are the outsiders priced at 3/1 (4.00) with bet365, while Ivory Coast can be backed at evens (2.00) and the draw is offered at 13/5 (3.60).

The temptation of course as it is with almost every match involing Greece is to back a low scoring encounter and under 2.5 goals is offered at 7/10 (1.70) which is a bigger price than it usually is for encounters involving the Hellenic outfit.

Yet Fernando Santos´side need a victory so they are obliged to score and therefore may opt for a slightly more attacking approach.

There is of course a caveat to that suggestion and it iis that despite potentially have offensive intentions, Greece lack a cutting edge up front.

Expect then a tight game and the price of 11/10 (2.10) for a draw at half time looks tempting.

This bet has paid out in three of Greece's last five games as well as in Ivory Coast's last game against Colombia and with both teams playing for their World Cup lives, a tight opening 45 minutes could be on the cards.

Don't forget that if the match ends 0-0 then bet365 will refund losing bets on any goalscorer market, correct score, scorecast and half time/full time markets.
