thumbnail Hello,

Tim Sherwood has officially left his position at White Hart Lane and the Southampton boss has been well backed to succeed him, while the Ajax manager is also in the frame

Paddy Power make Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino an industry best price of 7/4 (2.75) to take over at Tottenham after Daniel Levy's statement confirmed that Tim Sherwood has left the club.

Frank de Boer had been the front-runner in previous weeks but his price is drifting with some bookmakers though the Ajax boss, who sealed a fourth consecutive title with the Dutch club this season, is still Paddy Power's 6/4 (2.50) favourite.

Next Tottenham Manager

Odds from Paddy Power
Frank de Boer 6/4
Mauricio Pochettino 7/4
Rafa Benitez 11/2
David Moyes 10/1
Michael Laudrup 25/1
De Boer has been very public in his statements confirming that he would listen to any advances from the north London club but these comments were met with a denial of any advance from the Premier League side and punters seem to be putting their faith in Pochettino for the most part.

Although the 42-year-old boss still has 12 months to run on his current deal on the South coast, his refusal to sign an extension and the potential for several of Saints' star players to be sold in the summer has seen him well backed from double figure quotes into favouritism with some firms and at 7/4 (2.75) he appeals in a market where it's tough to see too many serious contenders.

Ex-Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is available at 11/2 (6.50) to take up the post at White Hart Lane but after a solid season with Napoli it's a price that could be best avoided. Likewise the 10/1 (11.0) on David Moyes holds little appeal given the circumstances of his Manchester United departure and the availability of other candidates whose stocks are on the rise.

Michael Laudrup is a 25/1 (26.0) option for punters. The Dane has Premier League experience and secured a Capital One Cup victory for the Welsh club but his departure from the Swans was drawn out and his reign didn't end on the best of terms, a factor which Spurs chairman David Levy is sure to consider when looking to make a long term appointment, especially having overseen nine managerial changes since he took over at White Hart Lane.

Ex-Tottenham player Jurgen Klinsmann will lead the United States national team to Brazil this summer and is available at 33/1 (34.0) to return to Spurs in a managerial capacity.

Sherwood has been well backed by punters for the Brighton job which Oscar Garcia left on Monday after tendering his resignation following the Seagulls 6-2 aggregate defeat to Derby County in the Championship play-offs.
