With both teams in excellent scoring form, Goal's Spanish football tipster, Phil Kitromilides, explains why neither is likely to keep a clean sheet on Sunday afternoon
Beat Los Che and Atleti would simply need to overcome Levante and Malaga to lift the title but drop points and Los Rojiblancos would need something from the final game of the season at Barcelona.
There is much on the line, then, for the visitors - less so for the hosts although Valencia are certainly not mathematically out of the race to finish in the Europa League places. Paddy Power price a win for Valencia at 3/1 (4.00) while the current league leaders are offered at 5/6 (1.83). The same firm make the draw a 13/5 (3.60).
That price for a home win may surprise some because, while Valencia have endured one of their worst seasons in the last decade, their home form has been extremely solid, losing just one game in their last 12 at Mestalla.
That run included a 1-1 draw against Atletico in the Copa del Rey back in January and Diego Simeone's side know that they will be in for a tough game despite Valencia's woes.
One thing that Valencia seemingly always do is score at home, with Los Che having netted in each of their last 25 league games.
Atletico for their part have found the back of the net in 13 of their last 15 games, making both teams to score the obvious bet, especially as both teams were involved in midweek European action. Surprisingly it is offered at the generous looking price of 10/11 (1.91) which well worthy of investment.
