It's an East Midlands Derby on Saturday lunch time, with two sides in poor form looking to kick start an end of season push, with our tipster backing a low scoring affairDerby County and Nottingham Forest meet at the Ipro Stadium this weekend, with both sides currently occupying a play-off position in the Championship. Whereas the Rams are looking to reduce the gap to Burnley in the automatic positions, Forest are clinging on to the final place by only one point.
Billy Davies's men come into this game without a win in their last seven matches. With Davies in the stands due to an touchline ban and a host of injuries to contend with, Forest are in danger of missing out on a top six finish altogether after this horror run.
Last time out Forest failed to beat Doncaster Rovers at home, and with four losses in their last seven, confidence is low. William Hill price them at 23/10 (3.30) to beat Derby.
The Rams, like Forest, were on a fantastic run of form at the start of the year, but have tailed off in recent weeks and need to find some form as the end of the season approaches. After looking like favourites to join Leicester in the top two a few weeks ago, no wins in their last four matches has seen the gap to Burnley rise to 10 points.
Last time out Steve McClaren's men drew 0-0 with Reading away from home, which followed up another 0-0 at home to Bolton. William Hill price them at 23/20 (2.15) to take all three points, with the same firm pricing the draw at 21/10 (3.10).
With both teams involved in low scoring matches of late, the under 2.5 goals bet would have been worth a play, but the 13/20 (1.65) price is a tad skinny with William Hill. Instead, it's worth looking at the under 1.5 goals bet at a 21/10 (3.10) with William Hill. This would have paid out in Derby's last three matches, as well as two or Forest's last three.
As well as this bet paying out in recent matches between the two sides, it has landed in three of the last four meetings between the two teams, with the East Midlands Derby usually a very tight affair and with both sides probably happy not to risk too much for fear of slipping to defeat, backing a low scoring clash could be the route to profit for punters.
