thumbnail Hello,

Phil Kitromilides believes that a free-scoring Brazil side should have little problems in finding the back of the net in Johannesburg

Hosts Brazil continue their preparations for this summer's World Cup with a game against the last side to stage the tournament, South Africa.

As you would imagine Felipe Scolari's team are short priced favorites to record their seventh successive win, with bet365 offering them at 11/50 (1.22).

South Africa meanwhile who will not be featuring in this year's summer festival of football, are offered at 10/1 (11.00), with the draw available at 11/2 (6.50). Those odds certainly suggest the bookmakers expect  little in the way of a significant challenge from Gordon Igesund's side.

Brazil though, have been extremely solid in the friendly matches which have served as their preparation and there is little to suggest that they will not record another victory in Johannesburg.

While the price for an outright win in not of interest, backing Brazil to score a few goals looks like a decent option and the price of 5/6 (1.83) for them to score over 2.5 goals should be an excellent selection.

In recent months, this bet has paid out in matches against Australia, Portugal and Honduras all sides competing in this summer's World Cup and all side arguably stronger than South Africa. Given that the tournament is now only a matter of a few months away, Scolari will want his side to maintain their intensity in the run up to the showpiece event meaning the usual criticism of international friendlies becoming boring and routine may not apply as much to this round.

The hosts conceded three goals in their last game against Nigeria and in a pretty one sided market, this bet looks like offering some tempting value to punters.
