Our betting expert in Spain, Phil Kitromilides, advises backing the Yellow Submarine to comfortably see off their inferior opponents in Monday evening's Primera Division game
Generally, the Yellow Submarine have been pretty solid at El Madrigal with six wins, three draws and two defeats from their home matches in La Liga so far and William Hill offer them at 2/5 (1.40) to record another win here, a price which both reflects their relative strength and the quality of their opposition in this game.
Traditionally, of course, Osasuna are amongst the worst away teams in the division although, in recent weeks, they have improved on their travels, suffering just one loss in their last five away matches.
Despite somewhat of a turn-up in the form table, they can still be backed at 7/1 (8.00), yet anything other than a home win is hard to conceive. A draw is also deemed somewhat of a long shot by the bookmakers, with quotes of 7/2 (4.5) for the teams sharing the spoils.
Indeed, Villarreal have produced some superb home performances this season, drawing with both Atletico and Real Madrid while thrashing Valencia and Real Sociedad 4-1 and 5-0, respectively.
To that end, backing the hosts with a -1 goal handicap looks to be a decent option at 10/11 (1.91). Naturally, the phrase "home banker" should be treated with care but this is as close to one as you are likely to see outside to the top three all season in Spain.
This bet has paid out in each of Villarreal's last four wins at home in the league and looks like offering the best value for Monday's match.
