Sunderland currently occupy bottom spot in the table and their prospects of survival also look gloomy according to the odds compilers with bet365 going just 8/13 (1.62) that the Black Cats’ seven-year stay in the Premier League comes to an end in May.
West Ham, currently 19th in the table, are chalked up at 11/8 (2.38) with bet365 to suffer relegation.
The Hammers, who suffered a humiliating 5-0 reverse at the hands of Championship side Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup at the weekend, have suffered from injuries to a number of key players and the pressure is mounting on manager Sam Allardyce after a string of poor recent results.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the man who has replaced Malky Mackay at Cardiff City following the Scot’s high-profile departure from his post last month but the former Manchester United striker faces a stern test of his managerial talent if he is to keep the Bluebirds afloat – and satisfy the demands of owner Vincent Tan.
Cardiff have been rocked by instability in recent months and Solskjaer will aim to steady the ship but bet365 offer a tempting 7/4 (2.75) on the Bluebirds being relegated back to the Championship after just one season in the top tier.
Fulham are chalked up at 15/8 (2.88) to be relegated but the Cottagers will hope that the appointment of Rene Meulensteen as manager, aligned with the return of striker Clint Dempsey to the club on loan from Seattle Sounders, will ensure their Premier League survival for another season.
Norwich City are also contenders to be dragged into the battle to beat the drop and are chalked up at a tempting 11/4 (3.75) with bet365 to be relegated but the Canaries have lost just two of their last five Premier League matches and appear to have enough fighting spirit to preserve their top flight status.
With a number of tough fixtures around the corner, the pressure on West Ham is set to intensify in the coming weeks and punters are advised to snap up the juicy 11/8 (2.38) quote from bet365 on the Hammers to be relegated at the end of the current campaign.
