thumbnail Hello,

The Red Devils will be without the in-form Wayne Rooney after their defeat against Everton, and Al Hain-Cole expects them to struggle once again when the Magpies visit

Manchester United will be hoping to bounce back from their midweek defeat against Everton when they welcome Newcastle to Old Trafford for Saturday’s early kick-off.

That result brought an end to the Red Devils’ 12 match unbeaten streak in all competitions but they are 1/2 (1.50) favourites with William Hill to get straight back to winning ways in this one.

Similarly, Alan Pardew’s men surrendered a four-match winning streak with a timid 3-0 defeat against Swansea on Wednesday but are available at 4/1 (5.00) to secure their first win at this ground in over 30 years.

Two of the hosts’ last three matches have resulted in a draw, and you can get odds of 10/3 (4.33) on the sides cancelling each other out here.

With all of their potential rivals at the top of the table collecting maximum points while they slumped to a home defeat, Wednesday could not have gone much worse for David Moyes’ side.

To add insult to injury, Wayne Rooney collected a yellow card that will see him miss Saturday’s match against the Magpies, denying the hosts the services of their most in-form player.

Having contributed four of his side’s last six Premier League goals and hit the back of the net in seven of their last 11, the England international will represent a significant loss for the champions as they attempt to break down a defence that has kept clean sheets in victories over both Chelsea and Tottenham in recent weeks.

The visitors have successfully registered a win after each of their previous three defeats on the road and will be confident of securing a positive result against a team who have now gone three league fixtures without collecting maximum points, particularly as they are without their talismanic forward.

All things considered, odds of 6/4 (2.50) look extremely generous for Newcastle to merely avoid defeat in Manchester, and are certainly worth a bet at that price.
