Tromso - Anzhi Makhachkala Betting Preview: Back the hosts to edge a tight encounter

Both sides have struggled to find the back of the net this season but Al Hain-Cole expects Steinar Nilsen's men to make the most of their home advantage and record a slender win
Tromso will be hoping to resurrect their stuttering Europa League campaign when they welcome Anzhi Makhachkala to the Alfheim Stadion on Thursday.

Despite picking up just one point from their opening three games, Tottenham’s dominance of Group K means Steinar Nilsen’s men can put themselves right back into the mix for second place with victory and they are available at 23/10 (3.30) with William Hill to come out on top.

The visitors picked up their first competitive win of the season in the reverse fixture two weeks ago and are favourites at 13/10 (2.30) to emerge victorious once again.

The hosts drew their previous group game on home soil against Sheriff and you can get odds of 21/20 (3.10) on them being forced to settle for a point in this one.

Orly’s 1-0 victory in Russia was their first at the 16th time of asking this season, courtesy of just their 13th goal of a miserable campaign since their oligarch owner withdrew his heavy financial support in the summer.

However, Gadzhi Gadzhiyev’s men have reverted to form since that sole victory, losing three consecutive games without finding the net, including a 1-0 cup defeat against second division Alaniya.

Therefore, the guests will hardly be in high spirits when they make the long journey north of the Arctic circle to face a side with just three defeats in their last 19 home games in this competition and who held league leaders Stromgodset to a confidence-boosting 0-0 draw at the weekend.

Gadzhiyev will merely be looking to set his stall out defensively and attempt to grind out a draw against a side who, like them, have only one goal to their name in the group stages so far, meaning odds of 10/11 (1.91) offer excellent value on no more than one team finding the net.

That bet would have paid out in each of Anzhi’s last five games in this competition as well as their most recent five competitive fixtures, so should be safe considering both sides have scored in only two of Gutan’s last 10 Europa League matches.

However, having won three of their last four on home turf in Europe, Tromso are worth backing at 9/2 (5.50) to inflict a fourth successive defeat on their guests in a tight game featuring under 2.5 goals.
'No' on Both teams to score for a 1.5pt stake at 10/11 (1.91) with William Hill
