thumbnail Hello,

Russell Slade's men won 3-2 in August's Capital One Cup tie against the Sky Blues, and Al Hain-Cole expects them to record a similar result in their Football League Trophy clash

Last season’s defeated regional finalists come face to face in the Football League Trophy on Tuesday, as Leyton Orient welcome Coventry City to the Matchroom Stadium for their second round tie.

Last edition’s southern finalists came out 3-2 on top when these sides met in the Capital One Cup back in August and are favourites at 6/5 (2.20) with William Hill to complete a cup double this evening.

Having reached the final of last year’s northern section, the visitors are available at 2/1 (3.00) to keep their chances of lifting the southern crown alive with victory in this one.

After starting the season with eight wins from eight League One games, Russell Slade’s men have drawn their last two fixtures, and you can get odds of 13/5 (3.60) on them  taking this tie into extra-time.

With 48 goals between them after 10 fixtures, this clash brings together the two most prolific teams in League One, and neutrals will be hoping for a repeat of the high-scoring Capital One Cup fixture from earlier in the season.

However, while the O’s have enhanced their impressive attacking performances by letting in just seven goals so far, their guests’ defensive record of 17 goals conceded has undermined their efforts so far.

Steven Pressley will be particularly hard-pressed to curb this defensive frailty without the injured Cyrus Christie, and the highly-rated youngster is joined on the treatment table by club captain Carl Baker.

The former Falkirk manager has therefore hinted that a youthful Sky Blues line-up will take to the field in east London and they will surely find it tough to secure just a third win in 11 away matches against a team undefeated in 90 minutes since early April.

An extra-time Capital One Cup defeat to Premier League Hull represents Orient’s only home defeat in 14, and the 6/5 (2.20) price cannot be ignored on them coming out on top against an under-strength Coventry side here.

However, with 15 goals in 20 games between them so far, the visiting strikeforce of Leon Clarke and Callum Wilson simply refuse to be contained, and odds of 16/5 (4.20) are too good to miss on them helping to ensure this home win features goals at both ends.
