thumbnail Hello,

Both sides made a winning start to the campaign in their opening games but our tipster is backing Laurent Blanc's side to enjoy a comfortable victory in Paris on Wednesday

Paris Saint-Germain opened their Champions League campaign in style with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Olympiakos in Greece and Laurent Blanc’s side will look to take another decisive stride towards the next round of the competition when they face Benfica on Wednesday night.

The French champions have won six of their last seven matches in all competitions and look to represent good value at 4/5 (1.80) with Betway to claim victory over Benfica in Paris.

Jorge Jesus’ men defeated Anderlecht in their opening Group C fixture but this represents a far tougher test and Benfica can be backed at 7/2 (4.50) with Betway to pick up all three points from Wednesday’s clash. The draw is available at 12/5 (3.40) with the same firm.

With Uruguay international Edinson Cavani likely to line up alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front for the hosts, there is no doubt that PSG boast plenty of firepower.

However, it is worth noting that les Parisiens’ success this season has also been based on a solid defensive unit and Blanc’s men have conceded just two goals in their last six matches in all competitions.

Benfica failed to qualify from the Champions League group stages last season, netting just one goal in their three away games, and they may struggle to make an impact against the big-spending Parisians.

With that in mind, Betway’s 17/20 (1.85) quote for fewer than three goals to be scored on Wednesday carries plenty of appeal while the same firm offer 3/2 (2.50) that PSG keep a clean sheet in Paris.

PSG backers will be keen to snap up Betway’s generous 2/1 (3.0) quote for Blanc’s side to win to nil on Wednesday.

There is, however, sufficient value in the 4/5 (1.80) quote from Betway for PSG to claim all three points on Wednesday and that is the recommended play for punters.
