Despite being in the second half of the Irish season, Cork are hosting English sides who are currently playing pre-season matches, with Burnley the latest to embark on a short Irish tour.
The Clarets come into this match after one friendly so far this summer. Sean Dyche’s men lost 1-0 to Morecambe last week, but have four more pre season games to try and make sure they are ready for the new Championship campaign.
With the Charlie Austin transfer saga still far from over, Dyche will be keen to shift the focus at the club back onto the pitch, starting tonight in Ireland. Bet365 price the English side at 2/5 (1.40) to win the match.
Cork have been in woeful form of late, losing four of their last five matches. Despite sitting in seventh position in the Irish Premier, Cork are closer to the relegation places than they are the European spots.
Tommy Dunne’s men will be keen to equal or better their sixth place finish last year. Bet365 don’t give the home side much hope for tonight, pricing them at 5/1 (6.00) to win the match. The same firm offer the draw at 10/3 (4.33).
With Sean Dyche expected to play a strong side in Cork tonight, expect Burnley to dominate proceedings.
The price of them to win at 2/5 is fairly short, but looking at the half-time/full-time market, Burnley to be leading at half-time and full-time at even money (2.00) seems like a fantastic price. With Cork in terrible form, the Clarets shouldn’t struggle to find goals against a side who have conceded 15 goals in five matches.
