After a slow start to the season, Frank Klopas' men are the form side in the Eastern Conference, and Al Hain-Cole expects them to extend their unbeaten streak
After just two wins and seven defeats in their first 10 games, Frank Klopas’ side have now gone five matches without defeat and are favourites at 17/20 (1.85) with bet365 to pick up their third consecutive victory.
Their Western Conference visitors have endured an equally underwhelming first half of the season, but are available at 10/3 (4.33) to follow up Sunday’s late win over LA Galaxy with all three points in Illinois.
Two of the last three meetings between these opponents have resulted in a draw, and you can get odds of 12/5 (3.40) on this one finishing all square.
Despite their disappointing start to the campaign, the Fire would move into the play-off picture should they make the most of their two games in hand, and their recent results will give them great confidence of collecting maximum points.
Although the hosts will be wary of their opponents’ upturn in fortunes since replacing coach Frank Yallop with his assistant Mark Watson three games ago, they will take heart from the absence of key men Victor Bernadez, Marvin Chavez and Chris Wondolowski.
Without those three internationals, Watson will struggle to put an end to his side’s poor away form of seven defeats and just one victory on the road, and those 17/20 (1.85) odds seem rather generous on the home side extending their eight-match unbeaten run in all competitions with a seventh win in nine.
The Quakes have failed to even find the back of the net in seven of their last away fixtures, and their chances of improving on that record will be made all the more difficult without their main goalscorer Wondolowski leading the line.
With this in mind, odds over 21/10 (3.10) offer tempting value on Chicago winning to nil, as they have in two of their last five homes MLS games.
