Put simply, their defending has been unworthy of a place in the top flight, with the side from Palma conceding 70 goals in their 35 matches so far.
That is by far the worst record in the division, and a Betis side chasing a place in Europe next season could well add to that tally.
Bet365 price an away win at 17/10 (2.70) but despite their push for a Europa League spot Betis have not been great on the road, losing seven of their last nine matches.
Mallorca, meanwhile, are offered at 6/4 (2.50) but despite victory being a necessity, it is tough to back a team with just seven wins all season and devoid of all confidence.
Rather than the outright markets, going for goals looks like the best option and both teams to score is a bet with an excellent chance of paying out.
However odds of 4/7 (1.57) will deter many people from investing. Instead, backing Betis to score before 50 minutes at 5/6 (1.83) seems a shrewd option particularly with Mallorca's defensive record.
Gregorio Manzano's side have conceded goals in the first half of six of their previous seven matches and with Betis in decent scoring form themselves, there looks to be every chance of this proving to be a correct selection.
For some higher odds, backing Betis to score in both halves at 9/4 (3.25) seems to hold some value, and is worthy of consideration for a small investment.
