thumbnail Hello,

The 27-year-old is now 8/11 to be playing his football away from Old Trafford at the end of the summer transfer window with Chelsea well backed as his next club

While a major managerial change is in the offing at Manchester United, it appears there could be some drastic changes to the squad available to whoever succeeds Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford next season.

While David Moyes looks set to take the Old Trafford hot seat, another former Everton man could be on his way out of the club who have just sealed yet another Premier League title.

Wayne Rooney's Next Club

Odds from Paddy Power
Bayern Munich 11/8
Chelsea 2/1
PSG 4/1
Manchester City 11/1
Everton 14/1
Paddy Power make Wayne Rooney an 8/11 (1.73) shot not to be playing for Manchester United by the end of the summer transfer window, with Chelsea being very heavily backed as his next possible destination. A move to Stamford Bridge is now rated as a 2/1 (3.0) shot by the same firm.

This move comes despite Ferguson recently confirming that Rooney would stay at the club next season and could possibly be offered a new contract in the coming months, although the change of management could be a major factor behind the latest wave of support in backing Rooney to end his nine-year spell at the club.

Chelsea may be popular in the betting but they are not the outright favourites for Rooney's signature - at least not yet.

That tag goes to Bayern Munich, who, having sealed the Bundesliga title and booked their place in the Champions League final, have already moved to strengthen their squad for next season, reaching an agreement with Mario Gotze of Borussia Dortmund.

Pep Guardiola will take over from Jupp Heynckes in the summer and Bayern are made 13/8 (2.63) to sign Rooney, while Paris Saint-Germain are the bookmakers' only other realistic contenders, with the Qatari-backed Ligue 1 side a 4/1 (5.0) shot to convince the England international to make the move to Paris.

A move to the blue half of Manchester was muted before Rooney's new contract was signed a couple of years ago and that is seen as an 11/1 (12.0) chance now, with a return to Everton seemingly unlikely at 14/1 (15.0) by the same firm.
