Leicester City - Watford Betting Preview: Expect plenty of goals at the King Power Stadium

Both sides' play-off fate was only decided in the dying stages of the regular season, and Al Hain-Cole is expecting them to light their semi-final up with a high-scoring encounter
After some late drama on the final day of the Championship season, Watford and Leicester find themselves going head-to-head for a place in the Premier League.

Gianfranco Zola's side were dealt an injury-time sucker punch whilst chasing the goal that would clinch automatic promotion in their defeat to Leeds, while a last-gasp winner saw Nigel Pearson's men leapfrog rivals Nottingham Forest into the play-off places.

The Foxes should therefore be the more upbeat of the two teams going into the semi-final, and are favourites at 21/20 (2.05) with Bet365 to secure a first-leg lead.

However, having emerged victorious at the King Power Stadium just under a fortnight ago, the visitors may fancy their chances of coming out on top again this evening, at odds of 14/5 (3.80).

The hosts have drawn three of their last six matches, and you can get odds of 12/5 (3.40) on this one finishing all square.

While Watford's automatic promotion bid was undermined by a lack of consistency, one area where they can usually be relied upon is up front.

The Hornets' goal tally of 85 is greater than any side in the Football League other than Port Vale, and their frontline will be licking their lips about facing a defence that has not kept a single clean sheet in their last 13 fixtures.

A high-scoring match seems to be on the cards, and odds of 17/20 (1.85) offer generous value on at least three goals going in tonight.

This bet would have paid out in each of Leicester's last five games, as well as the last three involving Zola's side, not to mention seven of the previous eight encounters between the teams.

While Championship Player of the Year Matej Vydra has perhaps been the most eye-catching of Watford's numerous loan signings, Almen Abdi's role has been every bit as crucial in the team's success.

The Switzerland international has scored an impressive 12 goals from midfield this season, and with two in his last three, he is well worth a pop at 10/3 (4.33) to hit the back of the net this evening.
