Barcelona - Real Betis Betting Preview: Why both teams to score is the best bet

Betis have a history of scoring goals in this fixture and our Spanish expert Phil Kitromilides can see them continuing that run on Sunday evening
Having exited the Champions League in the most humiliating fashion in their history, Barcelona have the not inconsiderable consolation of knowing that they should wrap up their 22nd league title in the next few weeks.

Lionel Messi's absence during Wednesday's 3-0 defeat against Bayern Munich remains something of a mystery, and whether or not he will feature against Real Betis remains to be seen.

Without him, Barca look infinitely less threatening and the price of 2/9 (1.22) offered by Paddy Power for a Catalan victory is clearly not particularly appealing.

Betis meanwhile are offed at 10/1 (11.00) and having given Barca a real run for their money during a 2-1 defeat earlier this season, Pepe Mel's side will be hoping to give another good account of themselves.

Indeed Betis have been playing some decent stuff of late, without perhaps getting the results they feel they deserve.

The side from Seville have netted nine goals in their last four away games, and have a remarkable scoring record against Barcelona, finding the back of the net in seven of their last eight meetings with the Catalans. That might explain the price of 4/6 (1.65) for both teams to score and while it is not particularly big, it is a bet impossible to ignore given the likelihood of it paying out.

For a value bet, back Betis to score two goals or more at 16/5 (4.20) something that has happened in six of their last eight meetings.
