thumbnail Hello,

Two heavyweights of English football meet in the second FA Cup semi-final with Hugh Wilson backing both teams to find the net and has a 12/5 value bet on offer

Neither Chelsea or Manchester City are strangers to Wembley, with both sides dominating the FA Cup in recent years. However, the two teams have never met in the competition, and this game is set up to be a cracker.

The holders Chelsea come into the game on the back of a loss in Russia in the Europa League, but the Blues progressed through the competition on aggregate.

Rafa Benitez’s men have won the FA Cup three times out of the last four seasons and have had a mixed run in the competition this season.

Despite a great start in the third round versus Southampton, they almost came unstuck against Brentford in the next round, needing a replay to progress, before beating Manchester United to reach the semi finals.

The Blues are underdogs with Paddy Power at 19/10 (2.90) to reach the final though.

Manchester City come into this match with a slim chance of retaining their Premier League title, but realistically, the FA Cup is the only trophy they can win.

Roberto Mancini’s men came out on top in the Manchester derby on Monday, so will be full of confidence coming into this game.

City have had a relatively straight forward route to this stage of the competition, with Stoke City being the only Premier League opposition they have faced. Mancini's men are favorites for this clash, with Paddy Power pricing them at 11/8 (2.38) to win.

The same firm price the draw at 12/5 (3.40) for the game to go to extra time and possibly penalties.

With both sides having a brilliant record in the FA Cup in recent years, a bet that stands out is both teams to score at 4/6 (1.67).

Unbelievably, Chelsea have found the back of the net in the FA Cup in their last 29 matches, and with City scoring in their last 17 FA Cup matches, it’s hard to see past this bet. This bet should be sizable enough to back as a single or as part of a multiple.

For those looking for more value, the outright result is defiantly worth looking at. With both sides desperate to win some silverware this season, expect a tight affair at Wembley. The draw at 12/5 (3.40) with Paddy Power seems to provide value and is certainly worth backing.

If Yaya Toure or Juan Mata score the last goal in this match, Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the game.
