After two winners over the weekend our La Liga expert Phil Kitromilides thinks tonight's match between two relegation strugglers will end in a stalemateThere is a particularly hyperbolic tendency in Spain to call big matches between teams struggling at the bottom of the table "a final" and true to form tonight's clash at La Romareda has been labelled exactly that by both camps.
Zaragoza and Granada occupy the final two places outside the relegation zone and Mallorca's much needed win against Sevilla on Saturday has left these two clubs in an even more precarious position, placing an even greater significance on tonight's match.
Coral price Zaragoza as favourites at 21/20 (2.05) while Granada are offered at 5/2 (3.50) to pick up their fifth away win of the season.
If Zaragoza are to be relegated it will surely be down to their home form with the side from Aragaon already having lost seven times at their own ground.
No other outfit in the Spanish top flight has lost more home matches than Manolo Jimenez's side, while only the top 6 have won more away games than Granada, thus making backing a home win unappealing this evening.
Instead investing in a draw looks much more attractive given Granada's ability to pick up the odd result away from home, whilst bearing in mind that neither side is in good form. Zaragoza have drawn three of their last four home games and the price of 12/5 (3.40) for another stalemate is well worth taking.
For a value bet the price of 8/1 (9.00) for another 0-0 draw could be tempting given that two of Zaragoza's last four home matches have finished goal-less.
