thumbnail Hello,

Simon is celebrating another week of profit and he has got two more bets in mind as he aims to put himself in profit for the season, while also discussing Chelsea's latest coach

What a crazy week it has been.

Manchester City are out and Chelsea look set to fail to make the Champions League knockout stage, Roberto Di Matteo gets sacked by Chelsea with Rafael Benitez taking over, Liverpool kept a clean sheet in the Premier League and most amazingly, I have seen a second week go by with decent profit made.

In my opinion the return was never in doubt either, with the both teams to score double coming in very easily as Arsenal v Spurs finished 5-2 and QPR v Southampton finishing 3-1.

This weekend pitches together the two English sides knocked out of the Champions League, Chelsea and Manchester City, in a 4pm kick-off on Sunday.

The arrival of Rafael Benitez at Stamford Bridge

My first bet was going to be that Benitez will be out of a job before then but I just cannot bring myself to make a joke about the man. As a Liverpool fan he brought me some of the best times I have experienced and watching football and the amount of grief he gets from media and fans alike genuinely baffles me.

Although they will never admit it, Chelsea fans have got themselves a forward thinking, talented coach that will do his all to protect both the club and the fans.

I also have no doubt that he will get Fernando Torres firing more regularly again, having shared an exceptional relationship with him at Anfield.

Both Teams to Score Double: Southampton v Newcastle & Wolverhampton Wanderers v Nottingham Forest at around 6/4 (2.56) with Paddy Power

I am going to stick with the tried and tested formula of a both teams to score double for my first bet, priced at a shade over 6/4 (2.56), I shall be putting £20 of my bankroll on this. The two games involved are Southampton v Newcastle and Wolves v Nottingham Forest.

Southampton have been more than entertaining so far this season, although Saints fans would probably prefer a few more points on the board than the accolades of being great entertainers.

One thing is for sure though; that they both score and concede goals for fun these days. Their away win against QPR last week was huge but even when in control they still managed to concede.

In five of the last six Premier league games that Southampton have been involved in, both teams have managed to find the net, whilst this has happened in four of Newcastle’s last six games too.

In the head-to-head comparison, it has occurred in five of their last six league meetings. Another stat to take into account here is that in 83 per cent of Southampton’s home games, both teams have hit the net whilst in 80% of Newcastle’s away games this has happened.

The Wolves v Nottingham Forest game in the Championship sees two huge sides and past-Premier League sides pitted against each other; both are floating around mid-table with just four points separating them.

The stats speak for themselves on this one too, with both Wolves' home games and Forest’s away matches this season. Both teams have scored a mighty 87.5% of the time and on that alone they make it into the double.

Luis Suarez to score anytime (v Swansea) at 6/5 (2.20) with Paddy Power

My second and final bet for the weekend is for Luis Suarez to score at any time for Liverpool against Swansea.

As it is an away match for the Reds, the prices on any time scorers seems a little too high – Suarez, for example, is the Premier League’s top scorer with 10 goals.

Six of those have been first goals and, if Liverpool are going to score, the likelihood is that it will be the Uruguay international that does so.

He is currently 6/5 (2.20) with Paddy Power to score at any time, where I would be expecting no better than even money so for me, he represents value as the key striker for a side that is improving rapidly.

Swansea have conceded nine goals in six home matches too, at a rate of 1.5 per game, so the chance for Liverpool to score is decent. £10 of my bankroll will be going onto this.
