After the Eredivisie side all but ended Manchester City's hopes of qualification, Adam Bate expects them to trouble Die Borussen in Amsterdam too and is tipping plenty of goals
The Amsterdam club appeared to be cut adrift at the foot of Group D after losing their opening two matches, but four points from the double header against Manchester City has resurrected their hopes.
Frank de Boer’s side have also won their last two games in the Eredivisie since drawing at the Etihad Stadium in their last group game and will be confident going into this one.
Ajax are 3/1 (4.00) underdogs with Bet365 to pick up three points here.
Dortmund currently top the group after picking up four points of their own in two games against Real Madrid.
They also won the first meeting between these sides thanks to Robert Lewandowski’s late goal in the Westfalenstadion.
Dortmund are 17/20 (1.85) favourites with Bet365 to confirm their place in the last 16 with an away win. The draw is available at 11/4 (3.75).
In the goalscorers markets, Lewandowski is a clear favourite to break the deadlock as he did in Dortmund. The Poland international is 7/2 (4.50) to score first with Bet365.
For Ajax, Siem de Jong was in impressive form against City and is priced at 6/1 (7.00) to score the opener once again.
But for the pick of the bets we must look to the other markets and specifically the remarkable scoring records of these two sides in recent times.
Dortmund are such an attacking side under Jurgen Klopp and have netted in 55 of the 59 matches they have contested in all competitions since September 2011.
Ajax have a similarly impressive record since winning their final 14 games of last season. The capital club have now scored in 29 of their last 31 games since February.
As a result, backing both teams to score is the best bet here and is available at 4/7 (1.57) with Bet365.
For the value bet, back the home side to continue their recent momentum and beat Dortmund given that the German outfit will know they still have a home game remaining in which to ensure qualification. Ajax at 3/1 (4.00) with Bet365 is a good price here.
