thumbnail Hello,

Cesare Prandelli's side have made a good start in their quest to qualify for World Cup 2014 and Willie Duncan is expecting goals when the Azzurri host the Scandinavians

Italy will look to consolidate their place at the summit of Group B in the Uefa section of World Cup 2014 qualifying when they play host to Denmark in Milan on Tuesday night.

The Euro 2012 runners-up were held to a draw in the opening game of their campaign by Bulgaria but have since defeated both Malta and Armenia to claim top spot in their pool and can be backed at 4/9 (1.44) with Bet365 to strengthen their position with victory against the Danes.

Morten Olsen’s men have endured a frustrating start in their journey to Brazil, garnering just two points from their opening two fixtures.

They are available at 7/1 (8.0) with Bet365 to shock the Italians, while the same firm also go 3/1 (4.0) that the game ends in a draw.

Denmark showed what they are capable of when they stunned Netherlands with a 1-0 win in their opening group game at the European Championship but have failed to win any of their subsequent five fixtures and this looks to be another tough assignment.

Pablo Osvaldo has been in fine form for Italy, scoring three goals in qualifying so far, and the Argentina-born striker is chalked up at 4/1 (5.0) to open the scoring on Tuesday night. Elsewhere, talismanic midfielder Andrea Pirlo is 11/1 (12.0) to score first and can be backed at a tempting 15/4 (4.75) to net at any time.

Nicklas Bendtner returned to action for the Danes on Friday night after serving a one-match ban and was on target in the 1-1 draw with Bulgaria.

The Arsenal forward, currently on loan at Juventus, can be backed at 10/1 (11.0) with Bet365 to score first, while the same firm go 100/30 (4.33) that Bendtner scores at any time.

Italy looked shaky at the back in the win over Armenia on Friday night and goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is an injury concern for his country ahead of Tuesday's match.

It is worth noting, too, that the Azzurri have kept just one clean sheet in their last six matches and, therefore, the 5/4 (2.25) for both teams to hit the net should be backed, while the 100/30 (4.33) for Bendtner to net at any time is the value selection here.
