thumbnail Hello,

With the Gunners out to topple the Premier League leaders, Adam Bate is not expecting a high-scoring contest but thinks there may be value in backing Roberto Di Matteo's side

The early kick-off on Saturday in the Premier League sees two in-form and unbeaten teams clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal confirmed their good form as the second string thrashed Coventry 6-1 on Wednesday night, while a strong Chelsea line-up annihilated Wolves 6-0 the previous evening.

Home advantage means the Gunners are favourites here and they showed in outplaying Manchester City last weekend that this is a more solid and combative side than last season.

Arsenal have conceded just twice so far in their league campaign and – with nine different scorers already – they will fancy that they have the firepower to outscore the Blues.

Arsenal can be backed to win and make it nine unbeaten this season at 11/10 (2.10) with William Hill.

But to do so they will have to beat the European champions who currently sit top of the Premier League table after an impressive start.

Strangely given their tournament success last term, Chelsea’s only defeats this season have come in the trophy games – the Community Shield and the UEFA Super Cup.

That aside they have five wins and two draws to their name. Five of those matches have seen Roberto Di Matteo’s men keep a clean sheet too so they will not make it easy for Arsenal.

Chelsea are 23/10 (3.30) with William Hill to extend their lead at the top of the table with three points here.

The draw that would see both sides retain their unbeaten league records for the campaign is available at that same 23/10 (3.30) price.

Speaking of the same price, the overs/unders market for 2.5 goals has both outcomes at 10/11 (1.91) with William Hill.

Given that both teams scored six in midweek and there was a remarkable 5-3 between the sides last season, that could point to overs here.

But it was Andre Villas-Boas in charge with Chelsea attempting to adjust to his ‘high block’ defence for that game and this team can be expected to defend deeper and with more resolve.

Both teams have goalless draws to their name already this season as well as eight clean sheets in 16 games.

As a result, the pick of the bets is to back under 2.5 goals at 10/11 (1.91) with William Hill.

In the goalscorer markets, the favourite Arsenal option is to back Lukas Podolski at 5/1 (6.00) to net first while Fernando Torres is at 13/2 (7.50).

But for the value in this one, William Hill are best price on most Chelsea victories and have a particularly chunky price of 18/1 (19.00) for a 2-0 away win that would hardly constitute a shock of those proportions.
